When you purchase one of our windows, you also get several exclusive features: - All J.S. Benson Woodworking & Design windows use our proprietary window slide system. This allows owners to easily adjust the frames’ slide tension as they undergo the natural microscopic dimensional changes that occur in all wood windows as heat and humidity varies with the seasons. - We use a combination of a warm-edge spacers and a silicone-based wet glazing technique to form an uninterrupted gasket around each pane that protects the wood against moisture penetration. Wet glazing ensures a long-lived seal between the wood frame and the insulated glass. Our warm-edge spacer uses non-conductive material to separate the inner and outer panes to maximize its thermal resistance. This allows us to build windows with state-of-the-art efficiency while maintaining the visual aesthetics necessary for historic renovations and other demanding architectural applications. As a result, we are able to design high-efficiency windows that are approved for use in the National Forest Service’s historic structures and in historic restoration societies in Boston, New York, Albany and many other regions throughout the United States. - Our double-hung windows come with installer-friendly features. The removable lifting handles, weight box access hatches, and clear, concise installation instructions have been designed to reduce labor costs and to ensure that your windows will be installed correctly for maximum service life and thermal performance. |
